It's a 10 collection | reviews

Hi!

Ever since my hair stylist recommended the It's a 10 line for me I've been hooked. I had horrible split ends and my hair was breaking really bad and overall my hair just looked sad. I'm not one to go in every six weeks for a trim because it just gets too expensive. Last year I decided that I would get my hair cut to get rid of all of the split ends, but I still had really bad split ends. This past July I cut a LOT of my hair off (more than I intended) and luckily my split ends all ended up on the floor! I decided that I would ALWAYS use a leave in conditioner, whether or not I was blow drying my hair that day.

Leave in conditioners (Keratin, for blondes, lite) and the miracle styling serum

Miracle leave-in for blondes and five minute hair repair for blondes

The main idea
The reason why it's called It's a 10 is because each product has 10 benefits that vary slightly according to the product. For example, the Keratin version has the benefits of:

  1. Maintenance of keratin straightening treatments
  2. Increases styling and manageability
  3. Perfect for all hair types
  4. Replaces lost protein
  5. Protects the natural keratin in hair
  6. Protects against heat
  7. Restores hydration balance
  8. Detangles, defrizzes, and adds shine
  9. Strengthens hair structure
  10. Seals cuticles for extra silky hair
It's a 10 has more products other than just the leave in conditioners, such as shampoos, conditioners, deep conditioners (masks), and styling products. They even have a collection fortified just for men!

To use: leave in conditioners
The miracle leave-in products all have the same directions, no matter what formula. It is best to apply to damp/towel dried hair (in other words make sure your hair is not soaking wet) and spray it into your palms. The nozzle does not have a fine mist to it, so if you were to spray it directly onto your hair you would get a clump in only one spot. So spray 1 or 2 times into your palms (a little definitely goes a long way) and then apply to the ENDS of your hair. If you want to apply it to your roots, then use whatever is left over on your hands and pat onto the roots to avoid any product buildup. Also keep in mind that if you brush your hair afterward then whatever got on the brush from the ends with naturally go to the roots as well, so you'll still be getting some of the product up there. The ends of your hair naturally have less oils, so you want to protect them the most!

Miracle leave-in conditioner: original

My initial purchase was the original miracle leave-in, because I feared that the Keratin would be too heavy for my hair. I ultimately wanted the "lite" formula since I have fine oily hair, but it wasn't available at my target. The scent is interesting... not the greatest but definitely not the worst. Oddly enough I find it a little sharp or bitter. Not quite sure how to describe it... almost powdery? I don't know.
I was disappointed in this one. I felt as though it didn't really penetrate my hair and that it wasn't protecting it as much. As you can tell from the picture I have used quite a bit of it and I gave it a fair try.
You can find it at target for $15.99 (here)

Miracle leave-in conditioner: keratin

Miracle leave-in plus keratin
This one is my favorite. Like I mentioned before, I was nervous to try the keratin because of my naturally "oily" hair. I went into Ulta one day during the 21 days of beauty in March and was not expecting to walk out with a full size bottle of It's a 10 for free! This is why the bottle says "sample" on it, even though it has more than a sample size in it! I was so excited because I was curious whether or not the Keratin would have worked better, but I didn't want to spend another $20 to find out. I'm not even halfway through the bottle and I've had it for over 10 months...
This one makes my hair SO shiny and it really does not make my hair oily at all, just super soft! Plus, I like the scent of this one much better- less heavy and more fresh and clean. The smell does not interfere with any perfume that I'm wearing either.
This is definitely one of those products though that you want to be careful to not use too much or put much into the roots. I usually only need one pump of this. When I use this and then blow dry my hair it makes it so fluffy! Very nice :)

Miracle leave-in conditioner: for blondes
My hair color is unique in the sense that I have natural highlights and lowlights, but my hair is mainly blonde.

This picture was taken when I was in the hospital this September, which is a completely different story, so don't mind the gown. My hair was also kinda greasy since I was stuck to an IV, but this still pretty accurately shows the color of my hair.

Miracle leave-in for blondes
Anyways, this leave in conditioner is a light purple to counteract any redness or brassiness that can be a problem for blondes. I occasionally get brassiness and this really helps to tone it down. This product will not lighten your hair a ton, it will just "brighten" it and tone it. Here are the benefits:

  1. Tones hair color
  2. Enhances brilliance
  3. Reduces fading/extends vibrancy
  4. Adds shine & restores moisture
  5. Restores elasticity & strength
  6. Detangles and defrizzes
  7. Seals the cuticle
  8. Thermal protector
  9. UV protectant
  10. Designed for all blondes
This one is lighter than the keratin, however it is still very nourishing. After I use it my hair is nice and shiny and bouncy.
The scent is lemon-y but nothing near artificial or like Pledge cleaner. It's very fresh and my ultimate favorite scent. Love it!

I also use the five minute hair repair for blondes:

When I bought the leave-in for blondes it came with a free sample of the repair mask. This has the same concept as the leave-in product in that it helps to tone and lighten your blonde locks. It also has a lavender color to it, and the same scent. I use this every weekend since I am at school during the week. Basically you use it in the shower, and most people can probably get away with washing their hair as normal and then use this in place as their conditioner. I used to do this, until it was a little too heavy for my hair. What I do is get my hair wet and use a comb in the shower before I apply the product. I then apply it to my hair, roots and all, and let it sit on my hair while I continue my shower. Then I rinse it out and wash my hair like normal. At first I thought this may be "wasteful" but I still get all of the benefits from it- I promise! The mask is very creamy and silky and it just feels nice on my hair. Even after washing my hair it is soft, silky, and luscious.
Ever since I incorporated the mask into my routine I have not had any split ends and my hair has never been better!

Miracle leave-in lite

This is actually my mom's, but I have tried this as well. In my opinion it is too light, and it could nourish more. It is nice to use though if you don't want to weigh your hair down after using a mask.

Miracle styling serum

Miracle styling serum

I don't have much to report here, but I can tell you that I'm not really fond of this. My hair does not really appreciate oils, and that's basically what this is. It has a very pleasant scent though- I really like it! I need to give this another fair try though, but the first couple of tries didn't go so well, and I made sure to only apply it to the ends.
This was purchased on a closeout so it was much cheaper. I am not sure how much was spent on it though....
Overall I think that the It's a 10 line is amazing! A little goes a long way and that is wonderful considering how much you pay for it. I would love to try the silk line (especially the hand cream!) and some of the shampoos!

If you're interested in the It's a 10 line then you can view their website here.
Most of their products can be purchased at Target and Ulta as well.

I hope that this was helpful! :) Take care
~Katie
